… for those sticking around, let me introduce myself. I’m Martin and I have a background in design and marketing. I’ve worked on various campaigns end-to-end, but like digital projects especially. Here’s one of my favourites from my time at Factory X:
(They own Gorman, Dangerfield, Princess Highway, Jack London etc.)
All company websites were being overhauled to Shopify from our legacy platform at the time, where I helped to conceptualise graphics and user experience for all brands. This Princess Highway concept wasn’t used in the end but I thought it was fun and reflective of my personal style.
I also conceptualised campaign launches and helped with art direction. Here is a seasonal campaign for Dangerfield that I created the aesthetic identity for.
And this is a campaign for Jack London where I was the art director and designer of digital assets.
Before this, I was the digital designer at Empire Skate; another retail business with a strong online presence. During my time, I helped to redesign their website with UX improvements and an aesthetic overhaul.
They also owned a bunch of sub-brands, of which I helped to create the identity and social content for their in-house barbershop; Dirtbag Barbers.
This role was perfect for my skills at the time, as I had grown up with a huge interest in photography and skateboarding. My introduction to design was actually through making editorial content and advertisements of my friends, of which you can see a selection below:
I’ve also worked for various freelance clients through the years and here is a little reel of highlights.
I’ll finish with some formative work. My very first role was for the Ronald McDonald House Charities and I helped to brand internal events, print materials and create content. These are some favourites from my time there.
And finally… my graduate exhibition. I initially majored in Photographic Design and these portraits were taken as a nod to my heritage. They were shot on monochromatic film and digitally colourised in Photoshop (the analogue colourising of photographs has Asian origins).
